Word Study Sentences

As part of the 1st grade curriculum, the teacher would give students sentences and the students would have to use the clues in the sentence to figure out the missing word.  I decided to put the sentences into a PowerPoint presentation.  The students were presented with the sentence and slowly discovered clues to find out the missing word.

WebQuest: Alphabet Challenge

My fellow early childhood educators and I created a WebQuest for use in a Kindergarten classroom.  Our WebQuest, called Alphabet Challenge, was designed to be used after the students have been introduced to all of their letters.  Throughout the WebQuest, they play games that focus on letter recognition, letter formation, letter sounds, and beginning sounds.  At the end of the WebQuest, as a group, they create an alphabet book for our classroom library.

Podcast: Software Review

Working with several of my colleagues, I helped review the software program Mathosaurus and write a script to create a podcast.  In our podcast, we recreated a typical Kindergarten classroom discussion to present our information.
