Mrs. Pedemonti's Portfolio

This summer (2009), I taught an enrichment course in Centennial School District for third, fourth, and fifth graders called Becoming an Illustrator.  I developed the course and implemented it myself.  It lasted for four weeks.  Each day we studied a different medium that iillustrators use to create their pictures.  I provided the students with several examples  for each medium we studied.  Then, they were able to experiment with each medium.  After studying many different illustrators and their illustrations, the students wrote their own story and created their own book complete with illustrations.  The illustrations were created in any medium of their choice.  I showed the students how illustrators create a picture.  They created their own storyboards and dummy books before making their final product.  Please take the time to see some of students books that are attached below.
